02Highlights

Four things that set this rug apart

01

Wool surface

On the surface: Wool. The same pattern woven in another yarn becomes another rug; the difference shows at the first touch.

02

Tribal pattern layout

Tribal pattern. The ground and the motif are not parts of separate processes but of the same weave; the two advance together. The ground tone is colorful.

03

Türkiye work

This rug is woven in Türkiye. We write down where it comes from, because we want to be able to name the workshop when someone asks.

04

Professional cleaning

Cleaning method: Professional cleaning. What wears a rug down over the years is not a stain but the dust that settles at the base of the pile and grinds the fibers from inside with every step.

Multicolor Anatolian Patchwork Handwoven Wool Runner, Anadolu Şal Series — product specifications

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

The story of this rug

Eighty centimeters wide and just under three meters long: 80 × 290 cm (2'7" × 9'6") makes this a runner before it makes it anything else. Multicolor Anatolian Patchwork Handwoven Wool Runner, Anadolu Şal Series, knotted by hand in wool in Türkiye, with a different traditional figure in every panel down its length.

01From the hand of the weaver

One piece. Patchwork here is drawn and not stitched — the panels are knotted in place as the rug climbs the loom, so the divisions between them are woven joins rather than sewn seams. A corridor is the one setting where that arrangement pays properly. You pass the panels in sequence instead of taking them in all at once, and a design that would be restless on a square of floor becomes a series of small separate events.

02The Wool on the surface

The colors run right across the range, and the drawing changes every half meter or so. Wool is the only fiber declared for it, pile and foundation alike. A runner is the hardest format to weave straight, because the tension has to hold even over three meters of warp with very little width to steady it. Give it a fortnight on the floor before deciding how flat it intends to lie.

03Knot by knot, by hand

Take it to a cleaner who works on wool. Handwoven in Türkiye in wool, pile and foundation both. 80 × 290 cm (2'7" × 9'6") — a corridor, a landing, or a long kitchen wall. Patchwork panels knotted in place, each carrying a different traditional figure. Multicolor along its whole length, with the drawing changing every half meter. Panels are read in sequence as you walk past them. A slight wave down one long side is loom work, not a defect. Allow it a couple of weeks flat on the floor to settle. Cleaning by a wool specialist.

04A line from the archive

One piece. Corridors are the part of a house that gets decorated last, and a runner with a different figure every half meter is the fastest available correction.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

08

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

09

Frequently asked

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
