The Cordoba Series floral rug lays a classical flower drawing across an anthracite ground — the gray that sits nearest to black — machine-woven in Türkiye from beech-derived viscose and acrylic.

01A question of size

Nine sizes are cut from it, up to a 300 × 400 cm floor — 9'10" by 13'1" in feet — for a hall or a long sitting room. Darkness is what makes the sheen visible. On a pale ground viscose looks merely soft; on anthracite the flowers lift out of the field as you cross the room and drop back into it when you stop.

The drawing itself is symmetrical and evenly repeated, so the rug reads formal from the doorway and gentler underfoot, where the pattern turns out to be lighter than its ground rather than louder than it. Beside black metal, smoked glass and pale upholstery it is the anchor.

03How it feels underfoot

Against dark wood it needs a light chair to stand on it. The viscose here is spun from beech cellulose, and that is where the shine originates; the acrylic is the second yarn and carries the wear.
