The story of this rug

Silver shows every footprint for the first week and then stops mattering, and it is worth saying so before anything else. Silver Damask Hand-Knotted Wool Rug — wool with bamboo viscose in the figures, hand-knotted in India at a close knot spacing, the damask raised in relief; 175 × 240 cm, with 200 × 300 cm for a larger room. What silver does that gray does not is change value with the light rather than only with the hour.

01The origin of the pattern

Walk from one end of the room to the other and the ground goes from bright to pewter and back, and the figures flip with it, catching light exactly where the field dulls. Under pale oak, white and smoke-gray furniture the rug is a soft floor; under darker wood it becomes the light in the room. The relief is added after the knotting: shears take the pile down across the field and leave the figures standing, and that only holds on a dense weave.

02What the yarn is

Wool carries the body of the pile and bamboo viscose is used where the drawing is, which is where the sheen comes from. Both sizes are made and one of each is in stock. Send it out to be washed — a raised surface traps more than a flat one and needs a proper rinse rather than a shampoo. Hand-knotted in India, densely, from wool with bamboo viscose in the figures. The damask is cut in relief by hand and stands proud of the field. Silver that moves between bright and pewter as you cross the room. 175 × 240 cm (5'9" × 7'10") and 200 × 300 cm (6'7" × 9'10"), one piece of each. Reads soft under pale wood, and bright under dark wood. Footmarks show at first and settle with use. Professional washing. It is the rug that decides how bright the room is, which is more responsibility than most floors are given.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
