02Highlights

Four things that set this rug apart

01

Flowing pile

Viscose pile flows and holds direction; run your hand over it and you find the direction at once. The rug reads in two tones from two sides.

02

Modern pattern

Modern pattern. The motif is built while the rug is woven; there is no layer printed on afterward. There is cream in the ground.

03

4 sizes, an unchanging calculation

Woven in 4 sizes, from 130 × 190 cm to 200 × 300 cm. The price difference between two sizes comes only from the difference in square meters; nothing else enters the account.

04

India weaving tradition

This rug is woven in India. Where a rug is from is read in its knot and its yarn more than in its pattern; that is why the place on the spec sheet matters.

Technical details

Cream Plain Handwoven Wool Rug — product specifications

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

05

The story of this rug

The knots are the size of the stitches in a heavy sweater, and that is the whole design: a plain cream handwoven wool rug made in India, 2,800 g/m², 12 mm of pile. The smallest is 130 × 190 cm (4'3" × 6'3"). The biggest is two meters by three — 6'7" × 9'10".

01The tone of the ground

Beige, gray and ivory drift through the cream instead of one flat tone. Because the knots are large and evenly set, the surface moves in a regular way and light does the rest — from a low angle the field shows relief, from standing height it settles into a single pale color.

02A line from the archive

There is no motif to look for. What the rug offers instead is texture at a scale visible across a room, which is a different proposition from a patterned piece and a quieter one. Beside pale timber and Scandinavian joinery it calms a room down; against anthracite or dark brown furniture it opens the space up. Four fifths of the yarn is wool and the remainder is a viscose and polyester blend.

03Coming off the loom

The knotting is tight, and tightness is what will hold the shape over years rather than months. Worth knowing before it arrives: the surface is not plush. It is slightly hard to the hand, deliberately, and anyone who wants to sink into a rug should be looking at a longer pile.

04Which tone on the ground

Send it out to be washed. Handwoven in India, by traditional technique. 80% wool, with a 20% viscose and polyester blend. 2,800 g/m²; the pile is 12 mm deep. Large knots that read as texture rather than as pattern. Cream carrying beige, gray and ivory rather than a single flat tone. The size range runs from 130 × 190 cm up to 200 × 300 cm. A firm surface, not a soft one. Professional cleaning. A pale rug in a busy house is a decision, and this one at least has the density to survive it.

07

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

08

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Frequently asked

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
