01Coming off the loom

Woven in India, one piece. The geometry is modern rather than tribal: straight lines, plain shapes, no repeat borrowed from an older rug. What keeps it off flatness is the tonal range — the cream is not one color but several close together, so the forms separate by shade instead of by outline.

02What Wool does

It is also why the whole thing changes character between morning and evening without anything else in the room changing at all. Four fibers, each doing one job. Cotton, bamboo viscose and viscose are cellulose fibers and they are what the hand registers as softness; wool holds the shape and takes the wear. Bamboo viscose is not silk and is not called silk here.
