02Highlights

Four things that set this rug apart

01

Wool surface

Wool fiber carries its own natural oil, lanolin; dust and dirt sit on the surface instead of entering the fiber. That is why a vacuum does so much.

02

Modern pattern layout

Modern pattern. The ground and the motif are not parts of separate processes but of the same weave; the two advance together. The ground tone is red.

03

Türkiye work

This rug is woven in Türkiye. We write down where it comes from, because we want to be able to name the workshop when someone asks.

04

Professional cleaning

Cleaning method: Professional cleaning. What wears a rug down over the years is not a stain but the dust that settles at the base of the pile and grinds the fibers from inside with every step.

Red Geometric Handwoven Naturally Dyed Wool Rug, Nadide Series — product specifications

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

The story of this rug

The yarn came from somewhere else first. This Nadide-series rug is handwoven in Türkiye from unraveled wool, colored with root dyes, and drawn in blocks of geometry across 230 × 248 cm (7'7" × 8'2") in red and blue.

01Which tone on the ground

Only one was made, because only one could be. The geometry is large and squared off, red carrying most of the field and blue set against it in bands and blocks. Root-dyed wool never gives a flat color — plant dye takes differently on yarn that has already been spun once and pulled apart again — so the red arrives in several values and the blue moves between something near indigo and something much lighter.

02The Wool on the surface

Those variations are what the trade calls abrash, and here nobody tried to avoid them. Söküntü yarn, meaning wool unraveled from finished weaving and spun back into usable thread, is the reason this exists as a single piece: the supply of any one color ends when it ends.

03Knot by knot, by hand

It was woven by hand in Türkiye and colored with plant roots rather than synthetic dyestuff, which is a fact about the color and not a claim about anything else. The tones will move slowly over years of daylight. That is what plant dye does, and most people who buy these consider it an improvement rather than a fault. What is söküntü yarn? It is wool unraveled from finished weaving and spun back into thread that can be knotted again.

04Color that shifts through the day

Because the supply of any single color is limited to whatever was pulled apart, a rug built from it cannot be reproduced a second time. What are root dyes? Root dyes are colors drawn from plants — madder for reds, indigo for blues — rather than from synthetic dyestuff. They take unevenly, which is why a root-dyed rug shows several values of the same color across a single surface. Handwoven in Türkiye; one piece only, and not repeatable. Woven from söküntü yarn — wool unraveled from earlier weaving and respun. Colored with root dyes, which yield several values of each color rather than one flat tone. Large squared geometry in red and blue. 230 × 248 cm (7'7" × 8'2"), close to square, which suits a room arranged around a center. Root-dyed wool shifts tone slowly in daylight. Professional washing. A rug that could not be made twice ends up in the middle of a room rather than at the edge of one.

07

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

08

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

09

Frequently asked

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
