Gray Abstract Machine-Woven Wool Rug

01The Wool on the surface

Because wool holds color matt and bamboo viscose returns it, the motifs sit fractionally forward of the ground without any change in pile height at all. Among pale walls and light oak furniture this is the darkest note on the floor.

02Knot by knot, by hand

In a half-classical room, among older furniture, it settles in and stops being noticed, which is sometimes exactly the job. It is woven on traditional machine looms at a close knot count, wool laid down for the field and bamboo viscose worked through the figures.

03From ground to pile
