The story of this rug

Loom-woven rather than knotted — a loom lays down the body and a weaver finishes the two ends by hand. A beige rug with an abstract drawing, made in India from viscose, cotton and wool, and the size remaining is 200 × 300 cm, which reads 6'7" × 9'10" in feet. Abstract in a rug does not mean random. It means the composition has been released from the border-and-field grammar that governs classical weaving, so shapes can run off an edge, change weight across the surface and leave areas of ground doing nothing at all.

01Color, by the light

Beige is the ground that lets that work — a strong color would turn undrawn space into an absence, whereas beige simply reads as surface. Three sizes were made, up to 300 × 400 cm, and this is the one still here. Three fibers do three jobs.

02What the yarn is

Viscose carries the light and the sheen in the drawing, wool supplies the body underfoot and the recovery after a chair has stood on it, cotton runs through the foundation and keeps the rug square over three meters.

03The mark of slow weaving

This construction answers the comparison buyers actually make, being steadier in surface than anything fully mechanized and far faster to produce than knotting row by row. Professional washing, and no home treatment of the viscose passages. Loom-woven in India — machine-laid structure, hand finishing. Viscose, cotton and wool, each doing a different job in the weave. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
