Rug Warranty

Every rug in the Halıcızade collection carries a one-year warranty against manufacturing faults, running from the date of delivery. The warranty covers weaving errors, a size deviation of more than 2 percent, curvature, differences in color tone and persistent odor. It does not cover wear from use.

The terms below are the store’s own; they sit alongside, and do not replace, any statutory rights you hold in your own country.

What the warranty covers

  • Weaving faults in the pile or the foundation
  • A finished size more than 2 percent away from the size stated on the product page
  • Curvature, so that the rug does not lie flat or square
  • A difference in color tone that is not the abrash inherent to a handwoven piece
  • A persistent odor that does not clear after airing

What it does not cover

  • Wear from ordinary use, including flattened pile in traffic lanes
  • Deformation caused by washing
  • Burns, cuts and pulled knots
  • Color faded by prolonged direct sunlight

Damage of this kind can usually be put right rather than replaced — see rug repair. A price and a lead time are given before any work starts.

How a claim works

Write to us with photographs of the fault and the order number. The rug is collected, examined, and the finding reported back to you. Where a manufacturing fault is confirmed, the rug is taken back and a voucher issued for the value of the purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the warranty?

One year from the date of delivery, against faults arising from manufacture. Statutory rights in the buyer’s own country apply in addition and are not affected by this term.

Is a size difference a fault?

A deviation of more than 2 percent from the size stated on the product page is treated as a fault. Smaller variation is normal in handweaving and is explained in the rug size guide.

Does the warranty cover fading in sunlight?

No. Color lost to prolonged direct sunlight is outside the warranty, as is wear from use, burns and damage caused by washing. Rotating a rug twice a year evens out both fading and wear.

What happens if a fault is confirmed?

The rug is taken back and a gift voucher is issued for the value of the purchase. Collection is arranged by Halıcızade once photographs and the order number have been received.

Is uneven color a manufacturing fault?

Not on a handwoven rug. Banding across the width, called abrash, comes from separate dye lots of the same shade and is a mark of hand dyeing. A tonal difference outside that pattern is treated as a fault.
