01Which tone on the ground

Gold-yellow and brown are the colors an old rug arrives at after decades, and putting them into a new one makes it look inherited. Nothing about the surface supports the impression: the pile is even, the drawing unbroken, the fringes clean. Beige in the ground keeps the whole thing calm enough to live under furniture without competing with it, and burgundy shows up only in the smallest elements of the pattern. Wool through the body, cocoon silk in the drawing, both woven in Türkiye by weavers working in the local tradition.
