Lyocell weave

The lyocell fiber is straight and smooth and breaks light by direction, the way silk does. The same rug reads in two colors from two sides.

Tribal pattern

Tribal pattern; the motif edges sit on the order of the warp, so they come out sharp. The ground is red.

The story of this rug

A single piece remains, and its size is 170 × 240 cm (5'7" × 7'10"). The Red Scandinavian-Pattern Loom-Woven Tencel Rug from the Zara series sets minimal northern geometry — straight lines, spare figures — on a deep, warm red, in Tencel®, woven in Oushak. Northern pattern on a southern color is an odd pairing on paper and a good one on a floor.

01The origin of the pattern

The red is softened rather than saturated, so the geometry does not have to shout to be read, and the figures are held to a few per square meter. At 170 × 240 cm it is the size that reaches the front feet of a sofa in an ordinary living room, or covers a bedroom floor from the bed to the wall. The technique is loom weaving: a mechanical body with hand-worked ends.

02What the yarn is

Tencel® is the whole of the surface, which is where the low, liquid shine comes from and why the pile lies as flat as it does. The fringes were knitted and tied by hand in Oushak. Because this is the last one on the shelf, it is a decision rather than an order. Loom-woven in Oushak, Türkiye. Tencel® surface. Minimal Scandinavian geometry on a softened red ground. 170 × 240 cm (5'7" × 7'10"). Fringes knitted and tied by hand. One piece in stock. Professional washing. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
