The story of this rug

Cream light comes in from the top right corner across a gray field in fine parallel lines, like sun through a shutter before the sun is properly up. Gray Abstract Loom-Woven Tencel Rug, Günyolu Series: a Tencel® pile on a cotton frame, 200 × 300 cm (6'7" × 9'10"), loom-woven at Kütahya and Uşak. Nothing in the drawing announces itself. The beams thin as they cross the ground, the gray stays neutral, and the composition gives up its depth slowly — the first look is flat and the tenth is not.

01Which furniture, which room

That makes it a rug for a room that would rather be looked at than have its rug looked at. It belongs with the palettes it was drawn against: linen, marble, unfinished wood, one tone of upholstery, the kind of Japandi or wabi-sabi interior where texture is doing all the work. In a bedroom it keeps the early hour it came from. Günyolu itself is a mountain village up in Kemaliye, Erzincan, and the light in this one is not a coincidence.

02Knot by knot, by hand

Production happens nowhere near there, on looms in western Türkiye worked by women: machine structure, hand finishing, the two techniques in one piece. Tencel® takes the pile and cotton the foundation.

03Color that shifts through the day

Lyocell has a natural luster, so the cream beams brighten and dim as you cross the room while the gray underneath stays where it is; under a lamp the whole surface warms by about half a tone.

04How it feels underfoot

Each rug carries its own weave number. Tencel® pile on a cotton foundation, containing no wool. Fine cream light-beams entering from one corner of a gray field. Loom-woven: machine-set structure and hand finishing, in Kütahya and Uşak. Drawn for linen, marble and bare wood — Japandi, wabi-sabi and minimal rooms. A 200 by 300 cm rug, for a sitting room or a large bedroom. Individually numbered, with the house tree-of-life figure worked into it. Professional washing. It is a rug you stop noticing within a week and miss immediately if you take it out of the room.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
