01Up close to the pattern

Anatolian flowers are geometric flowers, built out of knots instead of curves. One of one. A knot is a square. That is the constraint every pile weaver works inside, and it is why an Anatolian rose has corners — the weaver approximates the curve in steps, and the steps become the style.
