The story of this rug

From a doorway it looks like a calm white; step closer and it resolves into heathered cream, several tones of the same color worked together. Hand-knotted in India from 80% viscose and 20% cotton, 5 mm pile at 3,300 g/m², made in several sizes. The plant-based yarn is where the light comes from.

01What Silk does

Viscose has a silky luster that moves as the sun does, so a rug with no pattern at all still changes through the day — brighter where the window is, quieter in the corners, never quite the same white twice. The heathering is deliberate.

02At the loom in in India

A single flat cream would read as a piece of felt at this size; several creams together give the surface a grain and keep it from looking manufactured. Knotted entirely by hand in India, and light in the hand for its size. The pile stands 5 mm, thin by the standards of the category — if what you want is something to sink your feet into, this is not that rug, and the flip side is that it slides under a door and lies flat on any hard floor.

03What the yarn is

It does not show footmarks, which is unusual in a viscose surface and comes from how short the pile is cut. The plant fibers give it a long service life. Take it to a professional for washing. Hand-knotted in India, 80% viscose and 20% cotton. 5 mm pile at 3,300 g/m² — light, thin and even. Heathered cream: several tones of one color rather than a flat white. Viscose luster shifts with the light through the day. Does not show footmarks in daily use. Lies flat on board, tile or stone and clears a door. Available in several sizes. Professional washing. Plain rugs are bought to disappear, and the good ones never quite manage it.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
