The story of this rug

Felted wool loops, set in by hand and left standing: that is the whole construction of this blue geometric rug, made in India in wool, with the pattern raised off the ground rather than drawn onto it.

01Coming off the loom

You register the relief through a sock before you ever see it. Felting mats the fibers together so a loop holds its shape instead of collapsing, and placing those loops by hand at different heights is how the geometry gets its edge.

02Which tone on the ground

The blue takes both levels: raised work catches the light while the ground below stays in shadow, so the pattern remains legible in a room with one lamp burning. It is a modern drawing arrived at by an old method. Wool throughout, woven by hand in India.

A raised surface makes a genuinely good floor for a child's room, because there is something to sit on and something to look at, and wool is warm underfoot in a way no flatweave manages. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
