The story of this rug

Dark, shining, and a recorder of every footstep — Plain Anthracite Machine-Woven Viscose Rug, 100% viscose, woven in Türkiye at 3,250 g/m² with a 5 to 7 mm pile. A fine self-colored stripe runs through the weave, and that stripe is what keeps a single-color rug from looking dead. Anthracite is the strongest of the dark neutrals, and in viscose it stops being a solid: at one angle the field is flat and absorbed, at another it lifts and gleams like fabric.

The stripe worked into the ground barely counts as a pattern — it registers as movement rather than as drawing — and it makes the difference between a rug that sits quietly and one that sits dully.

02How it feels underfoot

Modern furniture takes it easily. Machine-woven in Türkiye from cellulose-based viscose yarn, which is where the silky feel and the brightness both come from. The weave is close at 3,250 g/m² and the low pile keeps the rug flat to the floor, so wiping and vacuuming go quickly.

03Which tone on the ground

The marking is the honest drawback, and the darker the ground the more of it shows. It will go anywhere in the house where someone is prepared to forgive that. 100% viscose, machine-woven in Türkiye. 3,250 g/m², pile 5 to 7 mm — thin, dense, flat to the floor. A fine self-colored stripe in the ground, visible as movement rather than pattern. Where you stand decides whether the anthracite reads matte or lit. Footmarks show, and show more on a dark ground than a pale one. Quick to wipe and vacuum. Wide choice of sizes. Professional washing for a deep clean. Dark floors are usually chosen to disappear; this one was chosen to be looked at, and it behaves accordingly.

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
