The story of this rug
Eighty-six centimeters across and more than two and a half meters long — 86 × 261 cm (2'10" × 8'7") — a hand-knotted wool runner from the Şahzade series, with flowers worked over a red ground in gold, green, blue and turquoise.
01The mark of slow weaving
Every knot in it was closed twice, and there is one of it. Sometimes the flowers open along fine stems and sometimes they arrive as large single forms, and that alternation is what stops a long narrow rug turning into a repeating strip.
02After the color
Red carries all of it and does what red does in Anatolian weaving, which is make every other color warmer than it actually is — the turquoise in particular stops reading as cool and begins reading as fresh.
03What Wool does
Along a corridor the pattern is met a section at a time, and this drawing suits that better than being seen all at once. Wool on the surface, cotton in the skeleton, with a trace of recycled synthetic yarn added for strength and named here rather than hidden behind the word wool.
04Knot by knot, by hand
Closing every knot twice is what the double knot means, and a piece this long took artisans months of steady work. Because everything was worked by hand, the drawing shifts a little between one end and the other.
05The tone of the ground
Vacuum and wipe it for daily care and send it to a professional for a real wash. Hand-knotted with the double knot, in wool over a cotton skeleton. A trace of recycled synthetic yarn is used in the foundation for strength; the pile is wool. Red ground with floral drawing in gold, green, blue and turquoise. Flowers alternate between fine stemmed sprays and large single forms. 86 × 261 cm (2'10" × 8'7") — a corridor, an entrance, or a long narrow room. Months of work, and the drawing shifts slightly along the length because of it. Vacuum for daily care; professional washing for a deep clean. A runner is the one rug people walk the whole length of every day, which is the argument for putting the knots where the feet are.

Which size fits your room?
The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:
Living room
At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.
Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380
Dining room
It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.
Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340
Bedroom
Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.
Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340
Hallway · runner
Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules
Vacuum regularly
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Treat spills before they dry
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Leave washing to a professional
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?
For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.
Can I return it if I do not like it?
Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.
Will the color match what I see on screen?
Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.
Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?
It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.
How does the price change between sizes?
Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
Can I see the rug in Ankara?
Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.
Can I ask for a size that is not listed?
Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
