The story of this rug

A loom-woven prayer rug in wool and cotton, made in Türkiye and measuring 80 × 130 cm, which is 4'3" long by 2'7" wide: pale blue through the field, navy in the transitions, mustard yellow in the details, with a mihrab arch and a plain area at its middle.

01The origin of the pattern

Two pieces are in stock. The plain middle is the working part of the design — it is where the person praying looks, and it has been kept empty for that reason, with the old Anatolian prayer motifs pushed out to the surround.

02The tone of the ground

The pale blue is the calm and the navy gives the arch its depth; the mustard is what stops the whole thing from going cold, and it is the one warm color in the rug. Three colors, no more, which is why a small object can carry this much drawing without becoming busy. Wool and cotton yarns, worked on the loom in Türkiye.

03From ground to pile

The surface is textured rather than smooth and matt rather than glossy, which is what wool does and viscose does not. It is easy to keep: wipe it, vacuum it, and have it professionally washed when it needs more. At this size it is the standard middle format — big enough for use at home, small enough to be given as a gift and carried away in one hand. Loom-woven in Türkiye, with wool and cotton yarns. It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
