Tencel yarn

Cellulose-based fibers take dye into themselves rather than carrying it on top. Where it wears, no pale ground appears.

Classic pattern layout

Classic pattern. The ground and the motif are not parts of separate processes but of the same weave; the two advance together. The ground tone is cream.

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

The story of this rug

Zade started with a sentence from the design team — let us make a series with different patterns and different colors — and this cream rug is the mildest thing that came out of it. Loom-woven Tencel® and cotton from the Oushak workshops, with red flowers scattered over the field and a tree of life running the border. Eleven sizes; the salon piece is 240 × 340 cm (7'10" × 11'2") and the longest runner 90 × 590 cm (2'11" × 19'4"). Cream carries the field, and the red flowers are placed loosely enough that the ground still reads as the main event.

01Reading the motif

The border is where the drawing tightens: slender branches and fine leaves wrapped around the tree of life, which is the house's motif and appears on every Zade piece. The overall effect is faded and calm and, at the same time, particular — this is not a plain rug with a stripe on it.

02From the hand of the weaver

In a reading corner it is a warm detail; at the largest size it is the middle of a large room. It comes off looms in Oushak, and afterward the fringes are finished stitch by stitch in the homes of women in the district.

03The Tencel on the surface

Tencel® with cotton gives the surface its matt-and-bright behavior: turn the rug, or walk around it, and the colors soften and sharpen. The pile is short, so it drops little and vacuums quickly.

04Knot by knot, by hand

A loom-woven rug with the feel of a hand-woven one is the whole proposition here, and the house does not pretend otherwise. Loom-woven in the Oushak district of Türkiye. Tencel® and cotton; there is no wool in it. Red flowers scattered across a cream field, with a tree-of-life border in slender branches and leaves. Color shifts between matt and bright depending on the light and the direction of the pile. Fringes knotted one at a time by women in the region. Eleven sizes, from 90 × 150 cm to 240 × 340 cm, with 90 cm runners as long as 590 cm. Professional washing; nothing about the fiber suits a home machine. It is the rug that lets the rest of the room be the loud one.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
