Brown Geometric Handwoven Wool Rug, Mahal Series

01How it feels underfoot

Color moves with them — pale brown through honey to something close to earth after rain — because the yarn was dyed in batches rather than to a single number. Those small tonal steps are why the surface never goes flat under a lamp.

02From the hand of the weaver

Against oak, walnut or a stone floor the browns read warm; beside gray upholstery they cool and behave like a neutral. Pakistan, and the double knot throughout — the knot Anatolian weavers use, tied around two warps so it grips and does not slip.

03The Wool on the surface

Wool makes every part of the pile; cotton carries the structure below it, and a little synthetic thread runs with it for strength — something the house prints rather than hides. The pile is shallow and the hand of it is firm. This is not a rug you sink into, and anyone hoping for that should know it now.
