The story of this rug

Brown Plain Loom-Woven Wool Rug, Focus Series — a rug with no pattern on it at all, loom-woven in India from wool, bamboo viscose and cotton, in a brown that is graded rather than flat: dark beige at one end of the surface, something close to milky coffee at the other.

01After the color

It is made in several sizes, a runner among them. A single brown on a floor goes hard within a week; a brown built out of several tones does not, and that gradation is the whole design. It sits in the neutral middle of the earth colors, which means blue, green, yellow, navy and beige can all be in the room with it without an argument starting.

02From the hand of the weaver

Under a classic dining set it stays behind the furniture and pushes it forward; under something low and modern it is the warmer of the two. Loom-woven: the ground is laid down on a mechanical loom and the finishing is done by hand, which is the middle construction — more even than a village rug, quicker than a knotted one.

03The Wool on the surface

Wool gives it body, bamboo viscose gives it the light it has, cotton holds the foundation. Vacuum it often, keep it out of a window that takes full afternoon sun, and send it out for a proper wash when it stops looking like itself. Loom-woven in India, machine structure with hand finishing. Wool, bamboo viscose and cotton worked together. No pattern of any kind — the gradient is the design. Runs from a dark beige to a milky brown across the field. Takes blue, green, yellow, navy and beige in the same room. Several sizes are made, including a runner length. Vacuum regularly, keep it out of direct sun, professional washing for a deep clean. Brown is the color people arrive at after trying the others, and this is the version of it that does not go flat.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
