Green Plain Handwoven Wool Cushion Covers, Set of Two
Your rug is dispatched from Ankara and reaches you in 5-7 business days. Shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid up front, so nothing is collected at your door. Each rug is packed by hand to arrive exactly as it left the showroom.
Two green wool cushion covers, handwoven in Türkiye, forty by sixty centimeters each (1'4" × 2'0"), carrying no motif at all — the flatwoven surface and the dye are everything there is to look at. The house sells them in twos and supplies them as covers, without inserts.
Take the drawing away and what is left is the weave, which is why an undecorated cover is harder to make well than a figured one. Every irregularity shows. Here the irregularities are the point: a handspun weft never runs at one exact thickness, so ridges appear and fade across the face, and the green shifts by a shade wherever the yarn came from a different skein. Set one of these next to a printed cushion and the difference is immediate. The printed one is flat; this one has a surface.
Wool face, worked on a hand loom in Türkiye. They are made in twos because a single cushion on a sofa looks like an accident, and because the two covers in a set share a dye lot that the next set will not. That is also the honest limitation — if one is damaged there is no matching replacement to be had. Clean them professionally. Wool and hot water are a poor combination, and a domestic machine will shrink the weave and tighten the corners.
- Woven by hand in wool, in Türkiye.
- Two covers of 40 × 60 cm (1'4" × 2'0"), sold together.
- Undecorated: no motif, no border, no printed figure.
- A handspun weft leaves visible ridges and small shifts of green.
- Covers only; inserts are not supplied.
- The pair shares one dye lot and cannot be matched later.
- Professional cleaning — a domestic machine shrinks wool.
Green does less arguing than most colors, which is why a plain green cushion outlasts a patterned one in the same room.

There is no such thing as leaving here unhappy. I vouch for very few things in this country, but my trust in Halıcızade is complete.
In the end the rug that made my home its best self was mine. The hour I spent in the store was the most enjoyable shopping I have done.
I went after reading the reviews online. The reviews understate it — attention and knowledge, both at once.
The right place: I bought a rug in ten minutes, on my first visit. I only had to say what I was looking for.
