The story of this rug
This one is thin enough to fold into a washing machine, which is the first thing to know about it: a gray abstract rug from the Sateen series, machine-woven in Türkiye out of cotton and synthetic yarn, with silver running through the drawing and a non-slip backing underneath. It is made at exactly 120 × 180 cm (3'11" × 5'11") square, nowhere near as thick as a wool rug. The pattern is abstract in the plainest sense — soft grays sliding into each other with silver where the tones change — and it was designed to be looked past rather than at.
01Where it is laid
That is a reasonable ambition for a rug that will spend its life in a kitchen or a bathroom doorway. The silver is the only part with any shine, and it comes from the synthetic yarn rather than from anything applied. Sateen rugs are built low and backed so they stay put on tile and on wet floors, and that is where most of the series is used.
02The feel of the surface
Being thin has a cost: there is no cushion in it, and on a hard floor you will feel the floor. What you get in exchange is a rug that can be taken up, washed and put back the same day, and a pile too shallow for much to settle into.
03How it feels underfoot

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules
Vacuum regularly
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Treat spills before they dry
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Leave washing to a professional
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?
It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.
How does the price change between sizes?
Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
Can I see the rug in Ankara?
Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.
Can I ask for a size that is not listed?
Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
