Red Yağcıbedir Hand-Knotted Wool Rug

Burgundy, navy and white, in that order of dominance — the Yağcıbedir triad, one of the most recognizable color signatures in Anatolian weaving. 01Reading the motif

That is why Yağcıbedir drawing is angular and closed — hooked forms, stepped edges, small enclosed figures — and why the white is used sparingly, as the element that separates the two dark colors from each other.
