01A question of size

Its measurement is 120 × 181 cm (3'11" × 5'11"), odd by a centimeter. The middle is left almost empty on purpose. A plain center means furniture placed on it keeps its outline instead of competing with a pattern, and it means the color at the edges is what the eye reads.

02The Wool on the surface

That color is a pale palette: cream first, then violet and green held at a pastel strength, none of it strong enough to fix the rug to one decorating decade. Viscose comes from cellulose, and it handles light much as silk does, so the drawn passages sit brighter than the wool around them and the brightness changes with where you stand. Wool carries the wear. Emirgan was designed for Halicizade rather than bought in.
