The story of this rug
New Zealand fleece and bamboo viscose over a cotton foundation, with the knots set on the loom by machine and everything after them done by hand — this is the Heritage Series striped rug in terracotta, woven in Türkiye and measuring 170 × 240 cm, which comes to 5'7" × 7'10".
01Up close to the pattern
No medallion, no border: the whole design is bands of color running the width of the rug. Stripes leave a weaver nowhere to hide a tone that has gone wrong, which is why so few rugs attempt them alone.
02Color, by the light
Here the terracotta runs from burnt brick at the darkest bands to something near apricot at the palest, with narrow lines of cream cutting between them. Read from a doorway the surface behaves as one warm field; stand on it and the separate bands come back.
03What the yarn is
Bamboo viscose takes light differently from wool, so the paler stripes carry a shine the darker ones do not. Machines set the knots; hands do the rest — the shearing, the sides, the fringe at both ends.
04The mark of slow weaving
That division of labor is what the house means by loom-woven, and it explains the weight this rug has in the hand without a year of work behind it. The pile is New Zealand fleece with bamboo viscose threaded through the lighter bands, and the skeleton beneath is cotton. It can be wiped between cleanings; a real wash should go to a specialist. The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Care — three rules
Vacuum regularly
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Treat spills before they dry
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Leave washing to a professional
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?
It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.
How does the price change between sizes?
Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
Can I see the rug in Ankara?
Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.
Can I ask for a size that is not listed?
Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
