The story of this rug
Heritage Series Abstract Navy Loom-Woven Rug, drawn the way a wall looks when it has been painted twice and sanded back: broad navy fields interrupted by paler streaks that never resolve into a motif.
01What Wool does
The surface is New Zealand wool, the lighter passages carrying bamboo viscose, and the foundation is cotton. Woven in Türkiye and made large: 200 × 300 cm (6'7" × 9'10"), unvaried. Nothing on it is symmetrical and nothing repeats, which is the point of an abstract in a series otherwise given over to medallions and vines.
02Color, by the light
Navy this deep swallows light rather than returning it, so the rug reads nearly black at the far end of a room and only opens up when you stand on it. The bamboo viscose is what does the opening: it lies at a different angle to the wool and throws back a thin sheen along the pale streaks. The construction is the middle one.
03Knot by knot, by hand
A loom lays the ground and sets the knots; hands take over for the edges and the fringes, and the people doing that work are mostly women in the weaving towns of western Anatolia. Dark ground is unforgiving about lint and pale hair, and this one will show both between vacuums. It will not show a footprint, which is the trade you are making.
04From ground to pile
Professional washing only. Structure set on a loom in Türkiye; edges and fringes closed by hand. New Zealand fleece, plus bamboo viscose along the pale streaks. Cotton foundation under the pile. Navy ground broken by pale streaks, with no repeat and no border. Reads almost black across a room and lifts underfoot. Shows lint and light-colored pet hair between cleanings. One option only, and a wide piece: 200 × 300 cm (6'7" × 9'10") unvaried. Professional washing. A dark abstract does the one thing a patterned rug cannot, which is disappear when you want the rest of the room looked at.

Which size fits your room?
The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:
Living room
At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.
Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380
Dining room
It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.
Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340
Bedroom
Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.
Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340
Hallway · runner
Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.
Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

Care — three rules
Vacuum regularly
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Treat spills before they dry
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Leave washing to a professional
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?
For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.
Can I return it if I do not like it?
Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.
Will the color match what I see on screen?
Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.
Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?
It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.
How does the price change between sizes?
Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
Can I see the rug in Ankara?
Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.
Can I ask for a size that is not listed?
Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
