Green Scattered-Motif Handwoven Wool Cushion Covers, Set of Two
Your rug is dispatched from Ankara and reaches you in 5-7 business days. Shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid up front, so nothing is collected at your door. Each rug is packed by hand to arrive exactly as it left the showroom.
These are covers and not cushions, which is the first thing to settle: two handwoven wool faces in green, 40 by 60 cm each — 1'4" × 2'0" — made in Türkiye, with small figures scattered loosely across them. An insert has to be bought separately, and they are sold two at a time.
Scattering figures instead of setting them in rows is a village habit rather than a workshop one, and it leaves the ground doing most of the work. The green here is deep enough to take the motifs without swallowing them — they sit a shade or two lighter, which is enough to be seen at conversational distance and not enough to make the cover busy. On a rectangle of this proportion the scattering also solves a problem, since a centered motif on a 40 × 60 would be off-center the moment the cushion was leaned on.
Handwoven in wool in Türkiye. The pair comes off one weaving, so the two faces share their dye and their spacing habits without being identical, and holding them side by side is the quickest way to see how much of this was decided at the loom rather than on paper. Wool of this weight wants a professional wash and nothing else, because a flat face has no pile to hide a shrunk patch.
- Handwoven in Türkiye, in wool.
- Two covers at 40 × 60 cm (1'4" × 2'0").
- Figures scattered over a deep green ground, a shade or two lighter than it.
- Covers only — inserts are bought separately.
- Both faces come off one weaving and share a dye lot.
- Scattering suits the long rectangle better than a centered figure would.
- Professional washing; a flat face hides nothing.
- One set.
Two faces off the same loom will never quite match, and that is the argument for buying them together.

There is no such thing as leaving here unhappy. I vouch for very few things in this country, but my trust in Halıcızade is complete.
In the end the rug that made my home its best self was mine. The hour I spent in the store was the most enjoyable shopping I have done.
I went after reading the reviews online. The reviews understate it — attention and knowledge, both at once.
The right place: I bought a rug in ten minutes, on my first visit. I only had to say what I was looking for.
