The story of this rug
A cotton warp, wool worked over it, and viscose and bamboo viscose kept mostly for the motifs so the drawing catches light the field does not. White Abstract Handwoven Wool Rug, Maison Series — woven by hand in India, in two pieces measuring 174 × 236 cm (5'9" × 7'9") and 276 × 366 cm (9'1" × 12'0"). The design is abstract and deliberately understated: from a doorway the rug is a plain white floor, and the shapes only separate when you are standing on top of them.
01Reading the motif
Putting the shiny fibers into the motifs and leaving the ground matte is the reason for that — the pattern is made of light rather than of color, so it appears and disappears depending on where the windows are.
02From the hand of the weaver
On a dark floor both the outline of the rug and the outline of the drawing sharpen. Maison rugs are woven by hand in India on a cotton warp, closely enough that a piece lies flat from the day it is unrolled.
03The Wool on the surface
Wool makes the body of the pile, and viscose and bamboo viscose are used sparingly, only where the drawing needs them. White is white, and this is a floor: in a house where shoes come off at the door it will hold its color for years, and in one where they do not it will not. Professional washing, and nothing improvised. Handwoven in India on a cotton warp. Wool pile, with viscose and bamboo viscose used mainly in the motifs. Which size fits your room?
The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:
Living room
At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.
Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380
Dining room
It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.
Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340
Bedroom
Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.
Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340
Hallway · runner
Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules
Vacuum regularly
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Treat spills before they dry
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Leave washing to a professional
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?
For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.
Can I return it if I do not like it?
Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.
Will the color match what I see on screen?
Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.
Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?
It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.
How does the price change between sizes?
Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
Can I see the rug in Ankara?
Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.
Can I ask for a size that is not listed?
Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
