Zeminde ne var

Makine Dokuma Madalyon Desenli Mavi İpekli Halı, klasik göbekli kurgunun tam örneğidir. Soluk gri-mavi zeminin tam ortasında büyük, yuvarlak bir madalyon duruyor; madalyonun içi ince çiçek ve dal örgüsüyle dolu, çevresinde ışınsal bir taç var. Dört köşede madalyonun çeyreğini tekrarlayan krem köşelikler zemini kesiyor.

Bordür tek katman değil: geniş bir lacivert ana bordür, iki yanında krem su bantları ve en dışta ince bir çerçeve. Halının kenarı bu yüzden kalın ve ağır okunuyor.

Ölçüsü ve nerede iyi durur

Türkiye'de ipek ve viskon ipliklerle makine tezgâhında dokunmuştur; ürün verisinde dokuma sıklığı 100 tarak olarak geçer. Madalyonun içindeki ince dal örgüsü bu sıklığın karşılığıdır: yuvarlak bir formun kenarı dokumada basamaklardan oluşur ve basamağın küçüklüğü doğrudan tarak sayısına bağlıdır. Madalyonun kenarı pürüzsüz görünüyorsa sıklık yeterlidir.

İpek karışımı yüzeye keskin bir parlaklık verir; ışığı yansıtan bir lif, madalyonun ışınsal tacının gerçekten ışıyormuş gibi görünmesini sağlar. Aynı desen mat bir iplikle dokunsaydı taç düz bir halka olarak okunurdu.

Full description

A large round medallion at the exact center of a pale gray-blue field, filled with fine flowers and stems and ringed by a radiating crown, with cream corner-pieces repeating a quarter of it at each corner. Machine-woven in Türkiye from silk and viscose at a hundred reeds, and the piece is 200 × 290 cm (6'7" × 9'6") overall.

The border is not one band but several: a wide navy band, cream water stripes on either side of it, and a thin frame outside those, so the edge reads heavy and the eye is held inside. That is the classical central-medallion composition doing what it was drawn to do — the medallion first, then the corners, then the border last. What is not classical is the palette. Instead of the red and navy this arrangement usually gets, the ground is a faded gray-blue, and that single substitution carries an old composition into a modern room of white walls, gray upholstery and pale wood.

Silk and viscose on a power loom at a hundred reeds. The density shows in the medallion, because the edge of a circle in weaving is a staircase and the size of each step is set by how many threads are available — smooth means dense. The silk in the blend gives a sharp reflectivity that does something specific here: the radiating crown appears to give off light, where the same drawing in a matt yarn would flatten into a plain ring. The layered border, meanwhile, means many color changes in every row, so the weaving load is concentrated at the edges. One rule for living with a medallion rug, and it is broken constantly: the medallion has to stay visible. A solid coffee table sitting on it removes the reason the rug is drawn this way, and a glass top or a small shift sideways solves it.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
