The story of this rug
Four metallic tones and no repeat anywhere in the drawing: gold, silver-gray, chrome and copper, laid into an abstract pattern that never comes back to the same place twice. Maison Series handwoven viscose rug from India, in 205 × 300 cm (6'9" × 9'10") and 260 × 350 cm (8'6" × 11'6"), which are large even for a living room. The colors are named after metals because that is how they behave.
01From ground to pile
Viscose reflects along the fiber, so the gold passages go pale and nearly white where light crosses them and drop to bronze where it does not, and the same reversal happens in the grays. Stand at one end of the rug and you see one set of tones; walk to the other end and you see another. Nothing in the pattern has changed — only the light on it. Handwoven in India, entirely in viscose, a cellulose fiber spun to take dye and light the way silk does.
That is also its weakness. Viscose crushes where weight rests on it and bruises where it is rubbed, and both show more on a rug this large, because there is more surface to compare against. It is the wrong choice under a dining table and the right one in a room that is walked through rather than worked in. Handwoven in India, viscose throughout. 205 × 300 cm (6'9" × 9'10") and 260 × 350 cm (8'6" × 11'6"). Abstract figures in gold, silver-gray, chrome and copper. The tones invert as you cross the room. Crushes under standing weight and bruises when rubbed. Not a dining-room rug. Professional washing; never a wet sponge. Metallic color in a rug is hard to keep from looking synthetic, and what saves this one is that the drawing under it is loose.

Which size fits your room?
The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:
Living room
At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room
It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom
Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner
Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules
Vacuum regularly
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Treat spills before they dry
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Leave washing to a professional
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?
It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.
How does the price change between sizes?
Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
Can I see the rug in Ankara?
Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.
Can I ask for a size that is not listed?
Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
