The story of this rug
The gül — the octagonal medallion Türkmen weavers repeat down a field — is the motif here, drawn in dark navy over burgundy with small cream details holding the two apart. This is the Nostalji Series Afghan Türkmen-Patterned Burgundy Loom-Woven Rug, woven in Türkiye in Tencel® and wool, in five formats, the smallest of them being 90 × 150 cm (2'11" × 4'11") flat, the biggest 200 × 300 cm (6'7" × 9'10") outright. Burgundy behaves differently depending on how much light reaches it.
01What it sits well with
In a lit room it has the depth of velvet; where a lamp catches it directly there is something closer to fire in the red. The navy güls are the structure and the cream is the relief, and there are echoes of Yağcıbedir drawing in the borders as well as the Afghan repeat in the field.
02At the loom in in Türkiye
Beside walnut and other dark woods the rug settles in; beside cream upholstery it does the opposite and takes the room over. These are woven on old-pattern looms in Türkiye, and the fringes and the finishing are done by hand afterward.
03What the yarn is
Tencel® is Lenzing's branded lyocell, a cellulose fiber, and it accounts for the softness of the surface and for the shine on it; the wool is what lets the rug take traffic. The point of the series is plain enough: an Afghan design, woven here, at a price an imported Afghan rug does not reach.

Professional washing. Loom-woven in Türkiye on old-pattern looms; fringes tied by hand. Tencel® with wool — shine and softness from the first, wear from the second. Navy Türkmen güls repeated across a burgundy field, with cream details. Yağcıbedir influence in the borders. Five formats: 90 × 150, 130 × 190, 90 × 300, 160 × 230 and 200 × 300 cm. One of the five, at 90 × 300 cm, is a corridor size. Professional washing. An Afghan pattern woven in Türkiye is a copy in the way that a song covered well is a copy, and the field it repeats is older than either country's border.

Which size fits your room?
The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:
Living room
At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.
Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380
Dining room
It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.
Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340
Bedroom
Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.
Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340
Hallway · runner
Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.
Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

Care — three rules
Vacuum regularly
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Treat spills before they dry
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Leave washing to a professional
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?
For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.
Can I return it if I do not like it?
Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.
Will the color match what I see on screen?
Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.
Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?
It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.
How does the price change between sizes?
Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
Can I see the rug in Ankara?
Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.
Can I ask for a size that is not listed?
Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
