Halıcızade is a handmade rug store in Ankara, on Çayyolu in the Çankaya district. The showroom carries hand-knotted Turkish rugs, flat-woven kilims and vintage pieces from Anatolia, Iran, the Caucasus and Afghanistan, in wool, silk and cotton. Staff speak English, walk-ins are welcome, and rugs ship worldwide.

Every handmade rug leaves the store with a certificate stating its origin and construction. Prices are quoted openly and the range is wide, from small runners to room-sized hand-knotted work.

Do you have to make an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours, and a private appointment can be arranged if you would rather see a large group of pieces pulled and laid out for you. Bring the dimensions of the room; it saves an hour.
Staff speak English, and a rug can be held while you take a sample home to see it in your own light.
Can rugs be shipped abroad?
Yes. Rugs travel by insured courier to most countries, rolled and wrapped for transit. Taxes, shipping and duties are calculated and collected at checkout. There is no cash on delivery. Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility. The 14-day right of return applies outside Türkiye as well.
The same stock is listed online, so a piece seen in the showroom can be bought later from another country, and a piece found online can be reserved and seen in person.
