The story of this rug

01Zeminde ne var

Berceste Serisi Klasik Tasarım Uşak Desenli Mavi Yün Pamuk Halı, ailenin en küçük ölçekli desenine sahip parçasıdır. Zemin krem-fildişi; üzerine soluk mavi-gri ve silik leylak tonlarında küçük rozetler, yıldızlar ve dal parçaları serpilmiş. Motif ölçeği diğer Berceste yolluklarına göre gözle görülür biçimde küçük, bu yüzden yüzey uzaktan bakıldığında desenden çok dokulu bir kumaş gibi okunuyor. Bordür tek bir geniş şerit değil: birbirini izleyen dört-beş ince bant var; bu bant yığını halının kenarını kalınlaştırıyor ve kompozisyonu çerçeveye yaslıyor.

02Ölçüsü ve nerede iyi durur

100 × 284 cm, yaklaşık 2,8 metrekare — ailenin en kısası. Bir metrelik en, standart daire koridorlarında iki yana yaklaşık on-on beş santim bırakır; 284 cm ise kısa ve orta boy koridorlar için ölçülüdür, uzun bir holde ucunda boşluk kalır. Antre girişinde ayakkabılık boyunca, ya da mutfakta tezgâh önünde iyi iş görür.

Küçük ölçekli desenin dekorasyondaki karşılığı şudur: yüzey karakter taşır ama dikkat çekmez. 04Nasıl dokunmuş

Türkiye üretimidir; yüzey ipliği yün, iskelet pamuk, dokuma makine tezgâhında yapılır. Küçük motifin dokumada bir bedeli vardır: bir motifi tanınır kılmak için ona düşen düğüm sayısının belli bir eşiğin üstünde kalması gerekir. Motif küçüldükçe bu eşik ancak dokuma sıklığı artırılarak korunur; sıklık artmazsa motif bulanıklaşır ve okunmaz hâle gelir. Bu halıda motiflerin kenarları okunabildiğine göre sıklık motif ölçeğiyle birlikte hesaplanmış.

Üst üste binen ince bordür bantları da aynı hesabın parçasıdır: her bant için ayrı renk sırası gerekir, bant sayısı arttıkça desen dosyası karmaşıklaşır.

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?
