The story of this rug

Botanical drawing, put through an oriental filter and then pulled out of shape on purpose: that is the Fresco vintage pattern, and this is the black version of it. Machine-woven in Türkiye, the yarn acrylic carrying viscose, in black, white and gray, with the motifs blurred so the surface arrives already worn instead of new. Distressing a pattern is a deliberate operation, not an accident of the loom. The flowers and leaves are still legible, but their edges have been softened until they behave more like shadow than drawing, which is why the rug settles a busy room rather than adding to it.

01After the color

Black holds the ground, white and gray do the fading, and the contrast between them is what carries across a floor. Halıcızade's own suggestion for it is bronze and gold — a lamp base, a frame, a tray — set among black and gray furniture, where warm metal is the one thing that stops the scheme going cold. Acrylic and viscose share the yarn.

02What Viscose does

Viscose reflects and gives the pale motifs their faint lift; acrylic holds the pile upright and takes the traffic. Wipe marks off as they happen; the full wash goes to a professional. One honest caveat from the house, and worth repeating here: photographs are taken with care, but how bright a room is, where its light comes from and which way the pile is lying all move the tone a little, so the black on a screen is never exactly the black on a floor. Made on a machine in Türkiye; acrylic yarn with viscose in it. A vintage drawing in black, white and gray, with the motif edges deliberately broken up. Ethnic-classical flowers reworked into a modern faded surface. The house pairs it with bronze and gold accents in black and gray rooms. Suits a sitting room, a bedroom, a kitchen or a teenager's room. Wipeable; professional washing for a full clean. A single piece is left at this size. Black rugs make a room look smaller and better lit at the same time, and a faded pattern is the version of that argument you can live with every day.

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
