Niğde Arısama Sandık Yenisi 40 Yaş Kirmen El Dokuma Halı, orta mavi bir zemin üzerinde dikey sırada dizilmiş üç büyük sekizgen madalyonla kurulur. Madalyonların merkezinde kırmızı yıldız formları, çevrelerinde ince açık yeşil kontürler yer alır; aralarda küçük çengel motifleri zemini boş bırakmaz. Geniş bordür erik ve kahve tonlarındadır ve zeminin mavisiyle arasına beyaz noktalı ince şeritler girer. Zemini kuran rengin mavi olması, aynı yörenin kırmızı ağırlıklı dokumalarının yanında bu halıyı ilk bakışta ayırır.

Ölçüsü ve nerede iyi durur

119 × 221 cm, yaklaşık 2,5 metrekare. Salon ortası için küçüktür; asıl yeri antre, çalışma odası, karyolanın yan tarafı ya da tek bir berjerin önüdür. Yatak odasında karyolanın ayakucuna enlemesine serildiğinde de doğru oranı verir.

Niğde Arısama Sandık Yenisi 40 Yaş Kirmen El Dokuma Halı, Türkiye'de elde dokunmuştur ve yün ipliği kirmenle eğrilmiştir. Kirmen elde çevrilen bir iğdir; ipliği makinede olduğu gibi tek kalınlıkta vermez, kalınlık boyunca ince ince değişir. Bu fark halının yüzeyinde doğrudan görülür: aynı renk alanı içinde bazı düğümler daha dolgun, bazıları daha ince çıkar ve yüzey camdan bir düzlük yerine hafifçe hareketli bir doku kazanır. Halı kırk yaşındadır ve sandık yenisidir — yani dokunduğundan beri sandıkta bekletilmiş, neredeyse hiç serilmemiştir; havın yüksekliği ve renklerin doygunluğu bu yüzden yaşıyla orantılı değildir.

Deseni nereden geliyor

Niğde dokumaları Türk düğümüyle örülür ve renk paletinde en çok kırmızı, sarı ve mavi tonları ile siyah ve beyaz kullanılır; bu halıda zemini kuran renk o paletin mavisidir. Yörenin dokumalarında 1960'ların ortasına kadar atkı ve çözgüde pamuk iplik tercih edilmiş, sonrasında tamamen yün malzemeye geçilmiştir — kırk yaşındaki bu halı o geçişin sonrasına denk düşer ve baştan sona yündür. Sekizgen madalyonun dikey sırada tekrar etmesi de yörenin madalyon kurgusuyla uyumludur.

Full description

Forty years places this one in the vintage band rather than the antique one — twenty to eighty years, by a trade convention that nobody issues and nobody polices. Hand-knotted at Arısama, a village in Niğde province, from wool spun on a hand spindle. Navy, 119 × 221 cm (3'11" × 7'3"). One piece, and no second.

Navy is doing the structural work. It fills the ground and the widest border, and everything drawn on top of it — the hooked repeats, the small central forms, the guard stripes — has to be light enough to survive against it. That is why village weavers put cream and pale rust next to a dark field and almost never a mid-tone: on navy a mid-tone simply vanishes at three paces.

The rug is chest stock, filed by the house as sandık yenisi, meaning it was woven and stored rather than laid down. Spindle-spun wool takes dye unevenly by nature, and on a dark ground that shows as a soft vertical striping through the navy that no amount of washing will even out. It is a characteristic, not a fault, but it is worth seeing before you buy rather than after. A professional washes it or nobody does.

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
