Modern pattern. The motif is built while the rug is woven; there is no layer printed on afterward. There is gray in the ground.
Woven in 4 sizes, from 130 × 190 cm to 240 × 340 cm. The price difference between two sizes comes only from the difference in square meters; nothing else enters the account.
This rug is woven in Türkiye. Where a rug is from is read in its knot and its yarn more than in its pattern; that is why the place on the spec sheet matters.
The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.
Silver-gray viscose that turns pearl under a lamp
Say the difficult thing first: a viscose pile takes footmarks, and on a plain rug there is no pattern to hide them in. This is a plain silver-gray rug in 100% viscose, machine-woven in Türkiye, 2,700 g/m², with a pile of 8 mm, in sizes running from 130 × 190 cm (4'3" × 6'3"), reaching 240 × 340 cm (7'10" × 11'2") at the top. What you get in return is the luster. Viscose is regenerated cellulose, and it reflects along the fiber the way silk does, so the same gray runs bright at one end of a room and closes to a soft matt at the other.
The tone has been held in the middle of the range — a silver rather than a blue-gray or a stone-gray — so it will not chill a room that faces north, and it will not quarrel with cream furniture.
There is no pattern, no border and no medallion. The whole design is the way the pile lies. Machine-woven in Türkiye. The number that matters is 2,700 g/m²: dense for a machine-made rug, and the reason it has weight in the hand and stays flat instead of rippling at the corners.
An 8 mm pile sits between a flatweave and a shag — deep enough to be soft to stand on, shallow enough that an interior door will clear it. It sheds very little and takes one pass of a vacuum.
Brushing the pile back with a hand or a soft broom clears the marks. It cleans easily at home and properly only in a workshop. The pile is 100% viscose; the weaving is done by machine in Türkiye. 2,700 g/m², dense for a machine-made rug, with the weight to show it. An 8 mm pile: soft to stand on, low enough to pass under a door. The gray moves from bright to matt as you cross the room. Footmarks show; brushing the pile back clears them. Sizes from 130 × 190 cm (4'3" × 6'3") to 240 × 340 cm (7'10" × 11'2"), and made to order. Low shedding; vacuum easily, wash professionally. In ten years it will still be gray and still be plain, which is either the point or the objection.
The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:
At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.
Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380
It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.
Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340
Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.
Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340
Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.
Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
