The story of this rug

It will show where you walked. Said first, because it is the one thing worth knowing in advance: a plain gray rug in 100% viscose, 200 × 290 cm (6'7" × 9'6"), machine-woven in Türkiye, a weave of 2,700 g/m² carrying a pile 8 mm deep.

01Which tone on the ground

No pattern at all — the color and the lie of the surface are the entire design. This gray belongs to the middle of the range, cool enough to hold its color beside white walls and warm enough to leave beige alone.

02Underfoot

What moves is the shine. Cellulose fiber returns light in the direction it lies, so the floor is bright and almost wet-looking from one end of a room and flat and quiet from the other, and a footprint is nothing more than pile pointing the wrong way until it is brushed straight. It comes off a machine loom in Türkiye and is made domestically from end to end. The weight gives it a heft you notice when you move it, and the pile depth is low enough to slide a door across and soft enough to sit on.

03The rule of care

It sheds very little, so a vacuum covers ordinary weeks and professional washing covers the rest. Anyone who cannot live with marks in a pile should choose a matt fiber instead. Other sizes and colors are produced to order. Made on a machine loom in Türkiye, 100% viscose. 2,700 g/m² — dense, and heavy for its thickness. 8 mm pile: low enough for a door, soft enough underfoot. Bright from one direction, matt from the other. Marks show; brushing the pile clears them. 200 × 290 cm (6'7" × 9'6") — a living room floor, with the seating on it. Vacuum for upkeep; professional washing for a deep clean. Produced in other sizes and colors on request. Why does this rug show footmarks? Viscose fibers are smooth and send light back along their length, so a patch of pile pressed flat reflects differently from the pile beside it.

Nothing has been harmed and nothing is fixed in place. Brush or vacuum the pile back to the way it lies and the mark goes. A plain floor is the least fashionable thing a room can have and the last thing anyone regrets.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
