Patchwork here is a design decision rather than a salvage: each panel is drawn complete, in its own palette, and the joins are where the interest is.

01After the color

Reds, blues, greens and golds run through them, the colors Anatolian dyers have always reached for. Across a long narrow piece the panels arrive one after another like rooms down a corridor. Against oak and gray, which is where most people put it, the rug supplies all the color a room needs and asks for nothing back. The wool is first grade throughout, and that is where the softness and the low natural shine both come from.

02From the hand of the weaver

Women weave these across Anatolia and a single piece takes months. Handwoven work is never mechanically even — panel edges wander by a few millimeters and colors shift where one dye lot gave out and the next took over — and that is the evidence you are holding, not a defect to be corrected. Rugs of this kind are made in smaller numbers each year. Send it out for washing. Handwoven in Anatolia, Türkiye, from first-grade wool. Panels drawn after Hereke, Bünyan, Ladik and Kayseri motifs. Reds, blues, greens and golds across the full width. Made at 83 × 120 cm (2'9" × 3'11") and 173 × 241 cm (5'8" × 7'11"), and as long pieces at 81 × 281 cm (2'8" × 9'3") and 81 × 293 cm (2'8" × 9'7"). Months of work per piece, woven by women. Small irregularities in the panel edges and in the dye lots are part of the weave. Professional washing.
