02Highlights

Four things that set this rug apart

01

Viscose surface

Viscose fiber temporarily loses its strength when wet, which is why a spill has to be lifted without being left to sit. It returns to itself once dry.

02

Modern pattern layout

Modern pattern. The ground and the motif are not parts of separate processes but of the same weave; the two advance together. The ground tone is white, cream.

03

5 sizes woven

Woven in 5 sizes, from 80 × 150 cm to 200 × 300 cm; you can choose the one closest to your room.

04

India work

This rug is woven in India. We write down where it comes from, because we want to be able to name the workshop when someone asks.

Cream Geometric Hand-Knotted Wool Rug, Örge Series — product specifications

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

05

The story of this rug

The maker attaches two exclusions to this one and they are worth reading first: crumbs work down between the knots, so it does not belong in a kitchen, and the proportion of wool is high enough that anybody with respiratory sensitivity should weigh it carefully.

01How it feels underfoot

Cream Geometric Hand-Knotted Wool Rug, Örge Series — knotted in India, mostly wool with a little cotton and sometimes viscose. The knots are thick, nearer to stitches than to the fine work of a classical rug, and the geometry has been drawn at the same weight: large plain figures with space around them.

02Which tone on the ground

Cream picks up whatever daylight is going and returns a low shine rather than a bright one. Against pale wood it is nearly invisible and entirely the point; on a dark floor it is a block of light. Knotted by hand in India.

03The rule of care

The pile does hold lint and dust between its loops, and the practical consequence is that a vacuum lifts both out at once instead of chasing them round the room. Use a brushless head — a brush pulls at loops this size, and the head is the difference between a rug that keeps its face for years and one that does not.

04Where it is laid

Bedrooms, corridors and sitting rooms suit it, and owners with animals report no trouble. Hand-knotted in India, in thick loops rather than fine knots. Predominantly wool, with small amounts of cotton and at times viscose. Plain cream with large geometric figures drawn at the weight of the knot. Suits Scandinavian and rustic rooms, and natural wood tones in particular. Not for a kitchen: crumbs lodge between the knots. High wool content — not the first choice for anyone with respiratory sensitivity. Vacuum with a brushless head; that alone adds years to the loops. It is a rug people end up describing by touching it rather than by looking at it.

07

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

08

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

09

Frequently asked

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
