The story of this rug

Knotted by hand in India with loops as thick as sweater stitches, the Beige Geometric Hand-Knotted Wool Rug from the Örge series sets squares of beige and earth tones into a loose grid. Mostly wool, with a small amount of cotton and viscose.

01A question of size

Made at 80 × 150 cm (2'7" × 4'11"), 130 × 190 cm (4'3" × 6'3") and 170 × 240 cm (5'7" × 7'10") — three sizes in all. The squares are not identical and were never meant to be.

02After the color

Each is worked in a slightly different beige, and the grid drifts where the tones change. What the thickness does is give the surface relief: this is a rug read with the feet before the eyes, and in raking light the raised loops throw small shadows across the field.

03What Wool does

It falls in naturally beside rustic furniture, pale wood and Scandinavian lines. Wool carries the surface; cotton and a little viscose sit in the structure. Two things are worth saying before anyone commits.

04Which furniture, which room

Crumbs work down between the loops, so the house does not recommend it for a busy kitchen. And wool at this weight holds lint and dust, which regular vacuuming turns from a nuisance into an advantage — use the brushless head.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
