02Highlights

Four things that set this rug apart

01

Natural surface

On the surface: Natural, Viscose, Cotton. The kind of yarn sets the hand of the rug, its shine and what its care asks, all together.

02

Modern pattern

Modern pattern. The motif is built while the rug is woven; there is no layer printed on afterward. There is beige, cream in the ground.

03

8 sizes, an unchanging calculation

Woven in 8 sizes, from 80 × 150 cm to 240 × 340 cm. The price difference between two sizes comes only from the difference in square meters; nothing else enters the account.

04

India weaving tradition

This rug is woven in India. Where a rug is from is read in its knot and its yarn more than in its pattern; that is why the place on the spec sheet matters.

Technical details

Cream Plain Handwoven Cotton and Viscose Rug, Jura Series — product specifications

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

The story of this rug

There is no wool in this one at all. It is handwoven in India from cotton and viscose with a small amount of synthetic yarn worked in for wear, in a flat cream that carries a faint moiré where the hand of the weaver changed.

01A question of size

Eight sizes are made, including a 100 × 300 cm (3'3" × 9'10") hall length. The moiré is the only event on the surface, and it is not printed. It comes from small variations in tension as the weaving went along, so it shifts as you move — which is why a plain rug of this kind holds a room instead of vanishing out of it.

02The tone of the ground

Cream sits over dark boards better than it sits over pale ones, where it can go slightly invisible. Against black-stained oak or a dark stone floor it gives the room its light back. Being wool-free is the practical fact about it.

03From ground to pile

Cotton and viscose make a thinner, lighter, cooler rug than wool does — easy to lift, easy to fold, easy to move between a bedroom and a sunroom in April — and they lack wool's spring, so this is a rug you look at rather than one you sink into.

04Coming off the loom

A household that wants no animal fiber underfoot has few good options, and this is one of them. Handwoven in India by hand-weaving technique, not on a mechanical loom. Cotton and viscose with a small quantity of synthetic yarn for wear — no wool. Plain cream, with a faint moiré from variations in weaving tension. Thin and light: simple to lift, fold and move between rooms. Eight sizes, from 80 × 150 cm to 240 × 340 cm, including a 100 × 300 cm runner. It has no wool spring; the pleasure is visual rather than underfoot. Professional cleaning keeps the moiré even. A room that has already said everything it means to say needs a floor that says nothing, and this is that floor.

07

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

08

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

09

Frequently asked

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
