Four things that set this rug apart

Wool surface

On the surface: Wool. The same pattern woven in another yarn becomes another rug; the difference shows at the first touch.

Tribal motif

Tribal pattern. Because the pattern comes from inside the weave, it can be followed from the back as well. Built on a cream, colorful ground.

Türkiye loom

This rug is woven in Türkiye. It comes straight from the workshop with no reseller layer; the place on the spec sheet and the place it was woven are the same.

Professional cleaning

Cleaning method: Professional cleaning. A pad laid underneath holds the rug in place and stops it rubbing against the floor; besides preventing sliding it also extends its life.

The story of this rug

A hand-knotted wool rug with a cream field, about 2.5 square meters: 132 × 190 cm (4'4" × 6'3"). Woven in Kula, a district of Manisa. Kula is one of the West Anatolian rug centers of the 16th to 18th centuries, alongside Oushak, Ghiordes and Bergama, and the prayer rugs of this family have a low, stepped arch.

01Up close to the pattern

Here too the two ends of the field narrow in a low, stepped line, leaving a long hexagon at the center. Inside the cream hexagon stand small dark brown trees with small figures between them. Around the hexagon the ground is light green and full of pink flowers. Outside runs a wide brick-red border, and beyond it a narrow band that leans toward pink.

02Color, by the light

The brick red and pink sit on the warm side, the light green in the corners on the cool side, and the two balance within the same rug. Wool throughout. The colors are not saturated; they sit close in value, so the rug never raises its voice in a room.

03Where it is laid

Professional cleaning only. The size suits the foot of a bed, the space under a reading chair or a small seating corner. A light oak floor and a cream wall carry the tone of the central field into the room.

04Color that shifts through the day

A sage-green armchair repeats the green of the corners and a dusty-rose throw the pink, both staying on the rug's soft side. The cream center is the brightest place on the rug.

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
