On the surface: Wool, Cotton. The shine of the rug, its weight and what its care asks all follow from that choice.

Tribal motif

Tribal pattern. Because the pattern comes from inside the weave, it can be followed from the back as well. Built on a colorful ground.

This rug is woven in Türkiye. It comes straight from the workshop with no reseller layer; the place on the spec sheet and the place it was woven are the same.

Cleaning method: Professional cleaning. A pad laid underneath holds the rug in place and stops it rubbing against the floor; besides preventing sliding it also extends its life.

The story of this rug

A handwoven kilim in wool and cotton that brings lilac, sage green, red and mustard together with white hooked motifs, known by the name of Sivrihisar. It was woven in Türkiye. Sivrihisar kilims, from Eskişehir, are known for geometric patterns, and red is their dominant color.

01Color that shifts through the day

On this one the red has moved to the edge while lilac and green fill the field: a familiar family, read in softer color. The field is full from end to end: white hooked lozenges repeat in rows, lilac and green bands run between them, and mustard is scattered as small accents. A red border closes the edge, worked with green pointed teeth. The colors are not bright; they lean on one another in sun-softened tones. 175 × 370 cm (5'9" × 12'2"), about 6.5 square meters.

In a kilim the wefts cover the warp and there is no pile, so it lies thin and firm underfoot. Professional cleaning only. In a long living room or a large study it covers most of the floor in a single piece.

02Which tone on the ground

The lilac and sage green sit on the same soft side as a light gray or sand-colored sofa, and the room stays calm. Repeating the red border once, in a cushion or a ceramic, carries the edge color into the room. The green teeth along the edge are the only cool color in the red border.

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
