This rug is woven in Türkiye. It comes straight from the workshop with no reseller layer; the place on the spec sheet and the place it was woven are the same.

Cleaning method: Professional cleaning. A pad laid underneath holds the rug in place and stops it rubbing against the floor; besides preventing sliding it also extends its life.

The story of this rug

Real cocoon silk and wool, both woven in Türkiye: Beige Anatolian Floral Handwoven Wool and Silk Rug, Sultan Series carries traditional Anatolian motifs mixed with Oushak drawing across a beige ground, in gold-yellow, green and brown with a touch of burgundy.

01From ground to pile

A single piece. Cocoon silk is reeled from a whole cocoon rather than spun from waste, which is why the silk in this rug holds a line instead of fuzzing at the edges. It appears in the pattern and not in the ground, so the gold-yellow reads brightest and the greens keep their depth.

02Coming off the loom

The Anatolian and Oushak elements are not layered on top of each other — they alternate, one motif family giving way to the next across the field, which is common practice in Turkish workshop weaving and difficult to do without the joins showing. The house recommends this one under a dining table, which is unusual advice and worth taking seriously: the drawing is busy enough to forgive a crumb and deep enough in the browns to forgive a shadow.

03Which tone on the ground

Beside classical furniture it agrees; beside a single-color modern piece in black it does the opposite and sets up a contrast. For anything beyond dust, find somebody who washes hand-knotted rugs. Woven in Türkiye in wool with real cocoon silk. Silk carried in the pattern; wool through the ground. Anatolian and Oushak motif families alternating across a beige field. Gold-yellow, green and brown, with burgundy touching the edges of the drawing. Suited to a bedroom, a living room, or the floor under a dining table. 04The Wool on the surface

One piece. Silk in the drawing and wool in the ground is the oldest compromise in Turkish weaving, and it still returns the best of both.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
