Full description

More than nine square meters of surface: 248 × 366 cm (8'2" × 12'0"), about 9.1 square meters (roughly 98 square feet). Hand-knotted in India in wool, bamboo viscose and cotton.

Small flowers, palmettes and curling stems spread across an ivory field from end to end. In India this classical floral language is associated with the rugs woven in the Mughal court workshops from the sixteenth century on. There is no medallion here either; the pattern covers the whole field at the same density.

The motifs are faded red, green, gold and light brown. Along the very axis of the field a thin line of darker flowers runs from top to bottom. The border is beige, close to camel, with large rosettes linked by vines. The step from ivory field to beige border is small, so the rug covers the room as one open surface instead of dividing it.

At this size it carries an entire seating group in a large living room, or goes under a long dining table and keeps the chair legs on the rug even when the chairs are pushed back. A walnut table and dark wood chairs stay on the same warm side as the beige. A dusty rose or sage green velvet armchair enlarges the faded red or green of the motifs.

Cream fringe at the short ends, with a cream band inside it.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
