The story of this rug

Three pieces and no two the same size: 83 × 144 cm, 83 × 149 cm and 82 × 192 cm — 2'9" × 4'9", 2'9" × 4'11" and 2'8" × 6'4". Cream Floral Classic Hand-Knotted Wool Rug, knotted in Pakistan from wool and viscose, with classical floral figures rising out of a cream ground. The drawing is the classical one, scrolling flowers and leaves worked at a small scale, and it does not arrive all at once.

01A line from the archive

From standing height the rug reads as cream with a texture somewhere inside it; from a chair the figures separate and there turn out to be a good deal more of them than there appeared to be. Viscose in the pile is what puts the shine on them, and the shine is what moves when the light does. Knotted by hand in Pakistan, where rugs of this type have been made for generations.

Wool carries the body and the wear; viscose carries the light. At these sizes the natural homes are a hallway, the strip of floor beside a bed, or a quiet spot in front of a window. There are three of them and each is its own size, so the one you choose is the one you get.

Professional washing keeps the viscose from going dull. Hand-knotted in Pakistan. Wool with viscose, the wool for durability and the viscose for shine. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
