Modern pattern. The motif is built row by row as the weaving advances; it is only seen whole once it comes off the loom. The ground color is white, cream.
Woven in 3 sizes, from 80 × 200 cm to 80 × 300 cm. Before choosing, taping the size out on the floor tells you more than the number on paper.
This rug is woven in India. The place of production is written on the spec sheet; it comes straight from the workshop that wove it, with no reseller chain.
The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

Cream Geometric Hand-Knotted Wool Rug: a pale cream ground divided into blocks, each block carrying a different geometric figure, knotted by hand from wool, cotton, bamboo viscose and viscose in India.
The long sizes — 80 × 200 cm and 80 × 300 cm — are made for corridors and for the narrow strip beside a bed. Blocks rather than one repeating field is what gives a narrow rug something to do over three meters.
The figures change every so often down its length, so the eye has a reason to travel, and the contrast between blocks is set low enough that the effect is rhythm and not patchwork. Cream is not a fixed color here: strong daylight pushes it toward ivory, a warm bulb pulls it to soft beige, and it will pick up whatever the walls are doing. Every knot is tied by hand.
Wool carries the wear, and the cotton, bamboo viscose and viscose carry the hand — soft enough for bare feet, firm enough not to crush under a door. The rug is made at 120 × 180 cm as well. A pale corridor rug is honest work and needs an honest warning: this one shows dirt at the threshold before it shows it anywhere else. Keep it out of the kitchen, and send it out to be washed. Hand-knotted in India, wool with cotton, bamboo viscose and viscose. A cream ground broken into blocks, each with its own geometric figure. 80 × 200 cm (2'7" × 6'7") and 80 × 300 cm (2'7" × 9'10") in stock; also made at 120 × 180 cm. Cream shifts toward ivory in daylight and beige under a warm bulb. Soft barefoot, at a thickness that clears most doors. Pale colors show entrance traffic first. Not for kitchens; professional washing. Hallway rugs are usually bought to cover a floor; this one is worth walking down.
The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:
At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.
Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380
It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.
Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340
Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.
Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340
Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.
Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490
Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.
Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.
Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.
At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.
