Blue Vintage Oushak-Pattern Handwoven Wool Runner, Retro Series

Afghanistan, on cotton warps, in wool: the Retro Series blue Oushak-pattern handwoven wool runner measures 79 × 307 cm (2'7" × 10'1"), three meters of blue carrying classical Oushak motifs in colors no nineteenth-century weaver would have reached for. 01The tone of the ground

Putting it into blue changes what it does: the geometry stays and the period leaves, so the rug reads as a modern object with an old grammar rather than as a reproduction of anything. The blues run from a grayed slate through to something clearer, and because the field is long and narrow the pattern repeats often enough to feel like a rhythm underfoot.

02From ground to pile
