Traditional, Tribal pattern. The motif is built row by row as the weaving advances; it is only seen whole once it comes off the loom. The ground color is taupe.

This rug is woven in Afghanistan. The place of production is written on the spec sheet; it comes straight from the workshop that wove it, with no reseller chain.

The story of this rug

Double-knotted, which means the weaver tied twice for every knot and the piece took months longer than it otherwise would. Mink Anatolian Hand-Knotted Wool Rug, Şahzade Series — 147 × 202 cm (4'10" × 6'8"), a wool surface over cotton, made in Afghanistan.

01After the color

One rug. The ground is mink, quiet and slightly warm, and the color arrives in blocks set inside geometric frames: turquoise, mustard, ruby red, and the earth tones between them. Small flowers are scattered in the spaces, older-looking motifs meet at the corners, and the fringes end in threads of several colors.

02The memory of a region

Traditional Anatolian drawing has been recolored here rather than reproduced. The result is neither strictly classical nor modern — it sits between the two, and it puts color into a room without asking for attention. Knotted by hand in Afghanistan by traditional methods.

03The Wool on the surface

Everything you walk on is wool; the base is cotton, given a small addition of recycled synthetic yarn for strength, which the house declares. Doubling the knot is why the detail holds and why the rug will not pull out of square, since every tie grips two warps instead of one. It sheds and fluffs very little.

04The tone of the ground

A vacuum and a wipe cover the week, and a professional washer takes it from there. Hand-knotted in Afghanistan, Şahzade series. Pure wool pile; cotton foundation with a small addition of recycled synthetic yarn. Double-knot construction — twice the tying, and twice the anchor. Turquoise, mustard, ruby and earth tones set in geometric frames over a mink ground. Multi-colored threads finish the fringes. 147 × 202 cm (4'10" × 6'8") — a dining table, or a mid-sized sitting area. Vacuum and wipe day to day; professional washing keeps it longest. No two are alike, and there is one of this one. It is the rug that goes into the room you have not decided about yet, and then decides it.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
